Case Study: Xtrac

Xtrac, already famous for its world beating motorsport transmissions, wished to move into supplying other markets, leveraging its knowledge and superior manufacturing processes. The objective was to increase sales by a given percentage, over a fixed period.

Using experience gained in similar strategies within the market place, combined with our unique contacts throughout the industry, we were able to create and implement a strategy that would bring focus to Xtrac’s capabilities.

CMA recommended a marketing campaign, spearheaded by PR, to target market sectors suited to the client’s design and manufacturing base. PR was supported by advertising, positioning literature, displays, website and presentation videos as the main elements in the strategy to raise Xtrac’s profile in the new markets.

Successful followup by the client’s new business team using the rebranded marketing material has enabled the client to achieve the level of sales required, despite difficult international trading conditions. Ultimately, sufficient impact had been made within the media to culminate in Xtrac’s appearance on BBC-TV’s “Top Gear” programme.
